Who We Are

Hi, I’m Jordan Stoffel.

I was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1990 and grew up in a small town called Huntington. I was obsessed with music from a young age, taking lessons on Piano, Drums, Trumpet, and eventually guitar. I was always into classic rock, but fell in love with metal music after listening to Metallica’s early discography. As a young teenager I expanded my obsession to Hardcore, Death Metal, Black Metal, as well as Prog and Modern Metal. I eventually went on to play lead guitar in a local Progressive/Hardcore band.

In 2010 I joined the U.S. Navy, during which my fascination for recording began. Living on a ship in Honolulu, I bought my first audio interface and MIDI controller and recorded songs I had written in Garage Band. My U.S. Navy contract was fulfilled in 2014, and I returned to Fort Wayne to attend the University of Saint Francis to achieve a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Music Technology with a concentration in Audio Recording and Production. To supplement my education during this time, I worked in Technical Support at Sweetwater Sound helping customers troubleshoot hardware and software equipment. I also was the Studio Assistant at the University, helping other students to use the studios there, and on the weekends running sound at a local venue and recording local bands.

After graduation, I moved to Nashville, Tennessee to intern at Blackbird Studio, assist at Kingsound Studio in Paducah, Kentucky, and begin my career as a freelance Engineer. I’ve been primarily mixing and mastering for remote clients, but love to get into the studio and record bands every chance I get. Right after releasing my solo project, Cool Chair’s debut EP, I took a hiatus in 2021 when I traveled around Europe for 14 months to reset.

I’ve since relocated to Leipzig, Germany where I’m now back in full swing to create sonic excellence in others’ projects as well as my own.
